Carers NSW Hiring for Communications Trainee (Indigenous Identified) Job at Newcastle Full Time

• Full time or Part time traineeship position until June 2023 with possibility of extension
• Located on Awabakal Country in Newcastle. Occasional travel may be required within the region.

Carers NSW is the peak organisation for carers in NSW. It is a member of the national Network of Carers’ Associations. It has an exclusive focus on supporting and advocating for carers of all ages and circumstances.

We are looking for an Indigenous Trainee to join our Communications Team, you will complete a qualification in Business and develop marketing, strategy, event management and creative design skills. You will be supported and encouraged during your traineeship with our Cultural Mentor guiding you on all aspects of your journey.

We are after someone who has:

• Sound administrative skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• An interest in and willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge related to the communications sector
• An interest in content writing and strong communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Effective time management and organisational skills
• Strong commitment to teamwork
• Ability to follow procedures as required
• Demonstrate initiative to grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently
• Experience using technology (computers/telephones/software packages)

It would also be a bonus if you have an:

• Understanding of and commitment to carer issues and needs
• Understanding and/or an eagerness to learn new software systems (eg Adobe suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Canva, Hootsuite)

The Salary Package is between $51K to $54K inclusive of base and superannuation. In addition, you will have access to salary sacrificing benefits.
