PURPOSE:
The Manager, Software QA/Testing is responsible for the tactical planning and execution of testing and quality assurance process. This role involves managing, designing, and coordinating software testing methodologies, capabilities, and services. This individual will be responsible for the oversight, execution, validation, accuracy and integrity all software quality processes as well as day to day testing and quality assurance activities across multiple projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develops testing protocols for new and existing products to ensure quality product delivery. Understand the business needs and processes to identify product risks.
Reviews design and quality specifications to provide recommendations to senior management.
Collaborates with technical architects, delivery managers and project managers to identify risks and requirements for testing software, contibute to product delivery strategy and schedules.
Maintains current knowledge on new testing tools and strategies, develops the team on new skills.
Performs performance reviews, budget management, resource hiring and mentoring, resolving conflicts and escalations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position manages people.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 5 years Related professional experience. 1 year Supervisory experience or demonstrated progressive leadership experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Ability to work in a high-paced dynamic environment.
Knowledge of testing methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication & peoples skills.
Ability to manage budgets, deadlines and commitments.
Experience with programming languages (e.g. java, python, C++) and automation frameworks.
Experience working with relational databases, SQL query optimization and tuning.
Excellent knowledge with test automation frameworks, tools and methodologies.
Ability to prioritize projects and allocate resources based on organizational goals.
Ability to cultivate a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Ability to establish relationships and credibility with engineers.
Select, monitor, coach, develop, and grow employees.
Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
Fundamental knowledge of software engineers’ best practices, agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborating on a cross-functional team to execute against our product road map.
Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
