Finance Officer

Careerlink People Solutions have teamed up with a well-known South Australian organisation for an exciting opportunity based in the Adelaide CBD.

Ideal for a proactive, team player with a background in finance, this role is being offered as a 3 month full time assignment, with a possibility of extension subject to business requirements and the right individual.

Excellent communication skills are crucial to working collaboratively and cohesively in this team environment. You will work in a diverse and dynamic workspace with a possibility of intra and interstate travel.

Engaging with key stakeholders you will deliver effective and efficient financial services to dedicated businesses, while ensuring that all processes and services meet governance in order to promote growth and help business customers enhance their service levels.

• Provide accurate and timely financial services
• Proactively lead and manage the month end processing transactional cycle, including general ledger maintenance, work order creation, creation of journals and accrual posting, daily cash and proactively follow up invoicing issues with business units and Accounts Payable
• Ensure the integrity of financial information is maintained
• Provide assistance and other analytical tasks, including budget preparation, budget packs, monthly management reports, update contractor schedules, improve and revise various management reports, provide basic analysis, and monitor major spend items’
• Develop strong working relationships within the team and business units
• Manage internal and statutory performance targets
• Maintain an advanced level of customer service
• Work collaboratively to ensure team goals are achieved by providing input into decision making and problem solving
• Adhere to the WHS roles and responsibilities procedure

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or related discipline
• Must have experience in analysing transactional data and making recommendations to decision makers
• Must have demonstrable success at developing partnerships
• A sound understanding of all Microsoft office applications
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• An extensive knowledge of computer based financial information systems and the interrelationships between them (Ellipse) is desirable
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
• A sound understanding and application of customer management practices and excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in costing and governance principles and sound understanding of operational functions within an infrastructure service industry is desirable
