Career Teachers are recruiting for casual Teaching Assistants to work within Special Schools in and around Nottinghamshire.

Paying £76 to £90 per day depending on experience.

Working full time, part time and adhoc days.

Do you have a genuine interest working with Special Educational Needs? Do you have experience within Special Schools or within a classroom? Do you hold a Teaching Assistant qualification?

If any of the above are yes, then we have the role for you!

As a Teaching Assistant your role is to work with children and young people that range from the age of 5-19 year olds. You will work on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with your pupil ensuring that their educational and physical needs are being met. Due this and the needs of the pupil, there may be some aspects of feeding and toileting involved.

You will need to be calm and patient in your approach to build good relationships not only with your pupil but also with the class teacher to ensure they are getting the best possible outcomes for their learning and development. You will be creative in your delivery of the lesson provided by the teacher to allow your pupil to learn in a way they understand and enjoy to keep them engaged.

You will work with children and young people who have a range of Special Educational Needs, some of these include autism, ADHD, communication disorders, speech and language difficulties, mental health, moderate to severe learning difficulties and associated behavioural difficulties. Due to this the role can be challenging, yet equally rewarding.

To be considered for this role you will:

• Be calm and patient in your approach
• Have a genuine interest working with special educational needs
• Have a DBS on the update service or able to apply for one through Career Teachers
• Have experience working with special educational needs
• Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification (desired, but not essential)
• Be compassionate and understanding
