Responsibilities

The Security Instructor is responsible for ensuring students are trained to meet curriculum requirements and to help get their Guard Card in-house or with outside vendor.

• Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere and a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting to insure maximum student motivation and maximum learning.
• Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport and utilizes all possible curriculum resources available and responsible for adequate classroom preparation.
• Ensure that all students obtain their required credentials.
• Maintains student personnel folders and records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area and designated staff.
• Responsible for building and equipment in seeing that security measures are taken and equipment and supplies are cared for and be accountable for the cleanliness of classrooms.
• Prepares reports such as student/staff hours, requisitions, and monthly student evaluations and reports.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state in which the center is located, or is accredited by a professional trade organization.

Knowledge Required: Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate and execute instructions or directives fluently in English. Competency in computer literacy, be comfortable with managing, updating, and teaching over Google Classroom, good Microsoft Office skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Up-to-date technology skills.
