Collections Representative

A local Jamestown company is looking for an experienced collections representative to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a background in working with insurance companies and a proven track record of successful follow-up calls to ensure timely payments.

As a Collections Representative, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the collection process, with a focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with insurance companies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct follow-up calls with insurance companies to facilitate and expedite payment collections.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any payment discrepancies or issues.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications and transactions with insurance companies.
• Implement effective strategies to minimize outstanding balances and improve collection efficiency.
• Work closely with the billing department to ensure accurate invoicing and billing processes.
• Provide exceptional customer service while addressing inquiries and concerns from insurance companies.
• Analyze and assess payment trends to identify areas for process improvement.
• Stay informed about industry regulations and changes that may impact the collection process.
• Utilize negotiation skills to reach mutually beneficial agreements on payment terms.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental and organizational collection goals.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience working with insurance companies in a collections or similar role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in record-keeping.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient in using collection software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards.
• Proactive attitude and ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Benefits / Compensation

• Full-time
• Pay Rate is $17-$18 per hour.
• Shift will be between the hours of 7am-4pm
• Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts
• Benefits available while employed through Career Concepts
• Temp-To-Hire
• Benefits after Probation period
