The team covers: Wellbeing & Disability, Learning Support, Student Advice, Careers, Placements, Employer Engagement, and GO Wales, supported by the Operations Team. You will provide a pivotal role in supporting students by working collaboratively with colleagues across the immediate and wider team. You will be proactive and forward thinking, coming up with new and innovative ways to engage with students.

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.

What you’ll do – key duties

• Efficiently and effectively resolve enquiries from students, staff, and prospective students, either face-to-face, via e-mail & social media, over the telephone, or via the electronic enquiry system
• Run ‘pop up’ student finance information stands across the University
• Work in collaboration with the Student Advice Manager to assess Student Support Fund applications, and to notify students of the outcome of their application
• Complete satisfaction monitoring and impact assessments for all Student Support Fund, and emergency/other awards
• Effectively manage the Student Support Fund inbox and other team inboxes as required
• Support Money & Welfare Advisors to provide fundamental student finance and budgeting support through drop in sessions and/or appointments
• Take a lead on the marketing and promotion of the Money & Welfare Advice Service and the Student Support Fund
• Work closely with students to seek out and promote good-news stories and case studies that highlight the positive affect that the service has had on their student experience
• Attend open days and applicant days to provide prospective students and parents with information on student finance
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of student finance information in order to provide students and prospective students with accurate and specific data and information

• Working in a busy, fast-paced customer-facing role
• Developing strong individual customer / client relationships
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case notes and records
• Working flexibly within a team

What you’ll have – essential qualifications

• You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, or have relevant professional experience
