Software Test Engineer – 6 month contract with possible extension

My international client is a defence specialist who develop innovative solutions in the sectors of radar, electronics, optronics and avionics. They are currently looking for a Software Test Engineer for their security solutions business. You will produce integrated security solutions to Critical National infrastructure and Militaries all around the world using a variety of inhouse sensors. You will be responsible for the improvements and maintenance of the integrated C2 application that links up all the sensors to create the heart of the solution. The design and update of the GUI, the addition of new features, and the interfaces to existing and new sensors will all be within your area of responsibility. Your responsibilities will include: · To use good engineering practice to produce software for new, innovative products and solutions for the security business · To support and enhance existing software in accordance with commercial and project requirements · Responsible for design, specification, implementation, testing and maintenance of software to support the company’s products and services · Responsible for managing, investigating and resolving defects · Responsible for supporting team members · Work within an agile team multi-disciplined team · Providing estimates for software changes required to bids · Undertakes additional project tasks as required by management You will need to have: · Good experience of using C++ · Good Degree with Software Content · Experience and a good understanding of Systems/Software Test Engineering and integration · Experience of writing test plans / test specifications · Experience of building software & software installers desirable · Experience in a similar position within a Technical/Engineering organisation preferred It would be beneficial if you have: · Willingness to travel · Practical experience of using Microsoft Visual Studio
