Finance Risk Senior Associate
About this role
We have a new opportunity for a Finance Risk Associate or Senior Associate.
This role has a broad remit and would suit someone with a Financial audit or Finance background who is looking to develop more of a risk focused career or would like to deepen their knowledge in this area.
You’ll partner with colleagues across the UK and US businesses to ensure UK Finance risk and compliance activities are completed to a high standard. You will ensure our Risk Stewards are engaged in all risk management activities and become a department expert in our core risk management processes and systems. In addition, you will support the implementation of new risk management projects as they arise.
What you’ll do
Work with, and support, the risk management team lead to deliver all risk and compliance activities required across the department
Attend the UK Finance risk management governance forum and support senior management in understanding key risks, issues and projects
Work closely with owners and performers of our critical processes and other processes to understand the risks, recommend control improvements, and support their ongoing management
Act as primary Business Continuity contact for UK Finance and support plan managers in updating and developing their plans
Be the UK Finance point of contact on events and issues and manage reporting to process owners and senior management
Support UK Finance teams in successfully completing control testing to a high standard and within acceptable timeframes
Update the risk management system of record and carry out horizon scanning to ensure emerging risks are documented in department wide Top Risk register
Lead on a range of BAU activities required as part of the UK and US businesses
What we’re looking for
An accounting qualification
A passion and appetite for best practice and great risk management
Curiosity to enable you to ask questions and understand the how and why
Great communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively
Some experience of liaising effectively and influencing colleagues of all levels
Ability to work autonomously
Great organisational skills
We’d also love it if you had
Experience of performing risk assessments and/or developing controls
Basic Project Management experience
Where and how you’ll work
This is a permanent position and can be based in either our Nottingham or London offices. We’ve adopted a flexible hybrid working model – one that creates the opportunity to work in your own way, but also provides great spaces for in-person collaboration.
Our core in-the-office days are Tuesday to Thursday, but they aren’t mandatory – you’ll be led by your team, the type of work you do and of course your preferences. Many of our team have flexible working patterns so we’re open to discuss flexible working arrangements with you.
