About the role

We created Canva with the mission of empowering the world to design – and this means it is super important for our content and experiences to represent the unique and vibrant world around us. To achieve our goal of building a truly local product & marketplace, we are looking for a Talent Acquisition Partner to connect us with the best freelance/contingent creative talent across the globe.

You will perform a global role – quickly researching and understanding differing global hiring cultures and requirements, and driving our contingent workforce hiring effort for designers, creative leads, photographers, copywriters, illustrators, marketers and other specialised roles. As a true business partner, you will work closely with our hiring managers to guide, support and educate them on TA best practice as you work to build out their teams with the best creative talent the world has to offer! You will be passionate about delivering an awesome candidate experience and will act as the primary advocate for candidates, leading them through the recruiting and interviewing process and connecting them to the magic of working at Canva.

• Manage the end-to-end recruitment processes for contingent workforce roles, globally (with a particular focus on APAC, EMEA & LATAM)
• Drive and enhance creative advertising & sourcing strategies to engage high-quality freelance candidates in a time-sensitive manner
• Develop and execute on innovative sourcing strategies that deliver the strongest results and make sure we’re bringing top talent into the design teams
• Hire quality candidates with agility and speed, often in countries Canva will be hiring in for the first time
• Research and quickly understanding unique hiring cultures across the world

• Previous experience in a fast-paced recruitment role and with a successful track record of hiring top design, creative or marketing talent;
• Prior experience or familiarity within temporary or contingent recruitment, either based in an internal team or onsite (MSP/RPO);
• Familiarity with global recruiting and navigating cultural, timezone and legal differences between countries/regions
• Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate candidates in different timezones;
• You’re adaptable and comfortable working in a business that is rapidly evolving;
• You have a love and understanding of culture, language and an awareness of cross-cultural differences;
• You have a passion and interest in global culture and get excited by building Canva’s global workforce;
• You’re an independent, adaptable and highly motivated recruiter who loves what you do;
• You use various platforms, technology tools, social networks and databases to uncover the best talent in the world.
• Spanish or Portuguese language skills are highly regarded, but not essential

In this 12 month fixed-term role, you’ll be a part of a brand new Global Contingent Workforce TA team who are having a huge impact on the future of our team here at Canva. Given the global nature of this role’s remit, we require mutual flexibility to ensure we are able to connect candidates in all timezones with the magic of Canva. We will work with you to establish a realistic schedule to prioritise your wellbeing and optimise your schedule. Maybe you are a morning person and would prefer an early start and finish some days, maybe you are a night owl and would prefer the mornings to yourself, maybe you want a bit of variety and are keen to work different hours on different days, work split days, etc… As long as you can be flexible outside the traditional 9-5, we will work with you to find a schedule that works for us, our candidates and you!
