Canon USA, Inc Hiring for Associate Logistics Specialist at Melville, NY Full Time

Overview: Canon U.S.A., Inc.’s Business Alignment (BA) is an integral part of Logistics that communicates directly with internal sales channels. It’s BA’s role to be aware of internal and external customer’s needs and communicate requirements to distribution centers and 3PL service providers in Transportation. In addition to expanding that knowledge base, BA provides direct support on outbound shipments, seeing to it that we are compliant on all shipping and packaging needs. We are currently seeking an Associate Logistics Specialist (Assoc Specialist, Logistics) who will be responsible for a range of activities including direct support of business unit sales and customer service requirements. The person in this role will support solution planning to align with logistics strategy and work frequently in a small team environment on a variety of initiatives and projects. This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Mondays and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office ing requirements may change from time to time based on business needs. Responsibilities: – Organizes and handles a variety of logistics issues. – Evaluates customer support and field service commitments to ensure customer requirements are met. – Assists in developing logistics plans and procedures. – Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. – Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. – Responsible for Carrier Management ing to ensure cost effective and efficient use of carriers used to transport Canon products across the United States. – Analyzes various costs and methods of shipment and make recommendations for carrier selection. – Provides analytical and administrative support to management regarding inventory levels. – Analyzes spacing concerns, replenishment rates, and product turnover rates. – Makes recommendations to management. – Prepares Daily Sales s used by management and warehouses to compare sales with actual inventory in warehouses. – Coordinates data selection and preliminary analysis for the Divisions Logistics projects. – Maintains, safeguards, and organizes departmental files, documents and communications. – Ensures compliance with contractual obligations. – Provides support to National distribution warehouses in regards to distribution issues. Qualifications: Please note: We comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, orders and mandates, including those we may be required to follow as a federal government contractor/subcontractor. – Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Logistics Planning, Operations Management or Business Administration) or equivalent experience required, plus 0 to 2 years of related experience. – Experience in a Distribution or Inventory Control capacity and knowledge of Logistics modeling techniques such as EOQ/EOP, preferred. – Exposure to warehouse management would be beneficial. – The individual should also possess strong organizational, written, analytical, administrative and interpersonal skills – Excellent computer platform skills are required.
