The Canberra Girls Grammar School, Early Learning Centre is a dedicated preschool facility catering for 3 – 5

year old boys and girls, with an ACECQA ‘Exceeding’ rating. We work on a beautiful campus inspired by the

Reggio Emilia philosophy delivering a program informed by the International Baccalaureate Primary Years

Program and the Early Years Learning Framework.

Due to an expanded After School Care program, and the professional progression of existing coeducators

within the ELC, opportunities to join our Early Learning Centre staff have become available.

The Roles

Early Learning Centre After School Care and Holiday Program Manager

Bring your knowledge and experience in early learning and leadership to one of Canberra’s most prestigious

schools. This is a newly established, full time position in our Early Learning Centre (ELC) to support our

expanded After School and Holiday Program. You will work collaboratively with Director of the Early Learning

Centre and staff across the ELC to lead an established team of dedicated and professional early learning

educators.

You will primarily be responsible for the smooth day-to-day management of the ELC After School Care and

Holiday Programs, demonstrating your experience in early learning and provide for the educational and

pastoral needs of our bright young students.

Qualification requirements:

Diploma of Early Childhood Education

Remuneration at Child Care Worker Level 5

Hours of work:

10am – 6pm, Monday to Friday

Four weeks’ annual leave plus additional days provided over School shutdown period at Christmas

Early Learning Centre Coeducator

If you are an experienced early childhood educator, we would like to learn about you. We are looking for

passionate, committed early childhood educators who will embrace being part of our Early Learning Centre

team. Share with us your knowledge of early childhood theory and practice, and grow professionally by

working within a team of dedicated and skilled Early Childhood Teachers and educators.

Qualification requirements:

(Minimum) Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education

(Preferred) Diploma of Early Childhood Education

Candidates enrolled in these courses, or willing to study, will be considered

First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis (HLTAID004) (training provided for the right candidate)

Hours of work:

10am – 6pm, Monday to Friday

While this is a full time position in our Early Learning Centre, we will consider part time applications for the

right candidate or candidates. Four weeks annual leave plus additional days provided over School shutdown

period at Christmas

Additional Information

Applicants will be required to provide a current Working with Vulnerable People check prior to commencing

employment.

Ideally you will be able to start before the end of year closedown to become familiar with the environment

before the start of the holiday program.

The ELC draws from the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the International Baccalaureate Primary

Years Program (PYP). Knowledge of the EYLF is fundamental to this role, as is a willingness to embrace the

PYP and inquiry based learning. Training and support in the PYP will be provided.
