Logistics Supervisor

Position Title : Logistics Supervisor

Department : Supply Chain

s To : Senior Supply Chain Manager

Description :

The Logistics Supervisor leads the execution of the organization’s import and export, domestic movement of all materials;

Lead a team of logistics professionals, responsible for process and metrics to deploy an optimized logistics network.

Responsibilities :

• Direct, optimize and coordinate full import and export, Logistics cycle of all materials movement
• Monitor and measure the performance of import and export, domestics transportation, proactively identify risks, cost inefficiencies, improvement opportunities
• Define best Logistics process, develop logistics standard operating procedures, work instructions, lead in ISO certification;

Review and improve policies and procedures, create best practice processes

• Create department KPIs, monitor and ensure department performance to meet KPI targets
• Identify professional development requirements and needs for team members, develop professional training and development programs
• Lead forwarder and broker performance management and selection
• Plan and implement improvements to logistics systems or processes including import / export compliance and brokerage services
• Monitor import and export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements
• Evaluate logistics operations through data driven models, design and implement optimal logistics modes, routing, avoid unnecessary logistics cost
• Abide by the organizations internal and external policies, including occupational health and safety regulations
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications and Experience :

• Post-secondary education in related field
• 5 years’ experience in logistics, supply-chain management; Importing experience
• Experience and knowledge of trade compliance
• Excellent problem-solving interpersonal and communication skill
• Ability to mentor and motivate team members
• Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key external stakeholders
• Knowledge of ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Office products
• Flexibility in hours mandatory, able to work off hours, holidays and weekends
• Working experience as a forwarder or importing experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
