We are looking for a Regional Director, Client Service
Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Calgary or Edmonton.
Role description
The Director of Service will provide leadership and direction of the Regional Service Managers, development and execution of regional and national service strategies, regional plan member education and regional service and education objectives. This role works collaboratively with Regional Vice Presidents, business partners both internally and externally including executive level with Advisors and plan sponsors to ensure service and education needs of all stakeholders are met. Providing talent leadership, coaching and development of a high-performance service while ensuring overall national service, education strategy and objectives are rolled out and executed consistently across their regional scope are key areas of responsibility. This role exemplifies service excellence, focused on business growth, retention, and quality of the customer experience.
Key Deliverables
Accountable for achieving customer satisfaction (sponsor and plan member) objectives in region through the creation of annual business plans and the execution of those plans in the region. This includes client retention, identifying opportunities for cross sell and executing initiatives that will build share of wallet.
Provide leadership and coaching to the Regional Service Managers to drive performance and achieve business objectives across all client and advisor segments. Escalation of regional service issues.
Contribute to the national service and education strategy and understand the needs of plan sponsors and plan members and advocate on their behalf ensuring region’s business plans place customers at the centre of everything we do
Work closely with the RVP to understand his/her priorities and align staff to ensure sales and persistency objectives are achieved. This includes sales support and installation of new and amendment/extension sales. Actively promotes and monitors amendment/ extension sale opportunities.
Work collaboratively with other Directors of Service and HO leadership team to build service and education capabilities across the Group Customer organization and to create national priority list
Create awareness of role objectives, organizational processes and identify inefficiencies. Applies new technology and tools to existing business processes to improve performance.

10 years in the Canadian insurance and/or financial industry
Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
Industry designations RPA and GBA would be an asset
Proven leadership capabilities
Strong process and service knowledge
Strong understanding and promotion of customer development process
High emotional intelligence to guide/influence thinking and behaviour
Strong understanding of Group Customer business and key stakeholders
Experience leading and championing change initiatives related to regional or national change
Track record of consistently achieving business, service and education targets
Ability to build and maintain partnerships both within the organization and region
