Job Description

Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for three-dimensional virtual prototypes creation; creating, updating and storing 3D virtual prototypes; updating and maintaining all work in the 3D Working and Render library and CLO-SET. There will also be responsibility for communicating with PDE Project Coordinator to schedule 3D fittings and reviews, and ensuring virtual prototypes are created as per CG standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Create all assigned styles into 3D prototypes

Create final virtual 3D marketing samples, as requested

Build 3D trims or fit garments as needed for 3D teams use

Execution of 3D prototypes to accurately represent all details, including colour, texture, fit etc.

Ensure all 3D virtual samples accurately resemble the physical sample (i.e., ensuring top stitching, trims, colours and style elements are accurate); compare with physical samples, sketches, and sample photos

Upload all of 3D styles in CLO-SET for use within the wider PDE team

Keep up to date records and ensure proper storage of all 3D virtual prototypes, renders and assets in appropriate folders

Stay up to date with 3D software developments

Liaise with Technical Designers, Product Developers and Design in the process of 3D creations to achieve the desired look of the product

Measure all 3D virtual samples to ensure alignment with fit intent

Communicate with Technical Designers or 3D team to obtain DXF of pattern (without seam allowances) for use in CLO

Provide feedback to Technical Design on pattern challenges (ie missing notches, etc.)

Assist Technical Design through 3D for any style line or trim placement changes (export dxf)

Keep up to date records of all 3D prototypes in BOX and CLO-SET

Support Junior Technical Designers – 3D with training and processes

Support Team Lead in the development and updating of standards

Experience, Education and Designations:
University Degree/College Diploma in Fashion Arts, with technical/ patternmaking emphasis

Experience in patternmaking and CAD pattern drafting knowledge are an asset

3+ years experience with the 3D Design Software, CLO experience is an asset

Knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop is an asset

Must be proficient with MS Outlook.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
Must have a solid understanding of fabrics, garment construction and pattern drafting

Strong understanding of body shapes & fit is a must

Strong ability to interpret 2D design (sketch) and build it into 3D

Self-motivated, team player, reliable, dedicated, and diligent

Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

Excellent attention to details/meticulous

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate garment fit, proportions and silhouette to internal staff

Able to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting the demands of many different departments (Production, Product Development, Cutting, Quality Assurance)

Able to meet extremely tight deadlines

Working Conditions:

Travel to other manufacturing locations and technology conferences when required
