Senior Accounts Payable Officer

• Permanent full-time, 35 hours per week
• Salary from $1238.40 per week + 10.5% superannuation

We are currently seeking to employ an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Officer who will be responsible for the processing and payment of Council’s suppliers.

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, this position is primarily responsible for the processing and payment of Councils suppliers, including checking and matching to purchase orders, assisting with goods receiving, checking of quantities, pricing and accuracy and applicability of GST and ledger costing. This position will also develop and deliver training programs for organisational users.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

• Tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or demonstrated experience in a high volume end to end accounts payable function
• Knowledge of computerised purchasing/commitment system
• Well developed planning, time management, motivational and conflict resolution skills
• Well developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to work as an effective and cooperative team member
• Ability to develop and deliver training programs
• Experience using Finance One and OCR scanning technology will be highly regarded
• COVID-19 Vaccination or medical contraindication upon commencement.
