About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective fleet management service, including purchases and sales of fleet, administration of leasing agreements, administration of fuel card transactions and monitoring of pool vehicles. You will ensure asset related transactions are updated in the asset management system and reconciled to the general ledger, and will liaise with the Assets Management Team to ensure accurate financial data is maintained. You will assist the Asset Accountant with the stocktake of Council’s assets, processing of depreciation journals and other financial reporting, and will maintain Council’s plant register.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, business or equivalent and/or job related experience.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in the Microsoft software suite (Power Bi, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience in managing a large passenger fleet and leasing arrangements including novated leasing.
- Highly developed organisational and administrative skills with an attention to detail.
- Ability and experience in working with a computerised asset management system.
- Experience with financial modelling including cash flow and resourcing requirements.
- Sound knowledge of the Local Government Act and Local Government Regulations in relation to tendering.
- Knowledge of issues affecting local government and participation in established industry networks.
- Experience in the use of Finance One, Conquest, Document Management and Pathway systems.
- High-level engagement skills with the ability to build relationships with all levels of staff, customers and stakeholders.
