CAMERON STEEL is looking for a MACHINIST APPRENTICE to join our growing Team.

Since 1975, we have been an employer of choice in the Kawartha’s. We are a Custom Fabricating and Machining facility, utilizing both CNC and Conventional Machine Tools to manufacture large, heavy equipment. Our reputation for quality workmanship and our ability to respond quickly to clients’ lead times, keeps our 75,000 square foot manufacturing plant busy.

Applicants must be hard working, possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma along with a valid Ontario drivers license and be dedicated to the trade and looking to pursue a career as a machinist.

Skills/Abilities to be developed:

· Ability to monitor and execute multiple tasks in parallel

· Becoming proficient with interpreting drawings and GD & T for machining

· Able to communicate issues and instructions clearly, efficiently and in a constructive manner

· Solid understanding of CNC programming

· The ability to set up different machines for a variety of jobs

Responsibilities will include:

· Machining various types of steel, stainless steel and aluminum weldments to both customer and internal drawings.

· Detailed inspection and verification to customer requirements

· Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments

· Plan and execute work for efficient use of time, equipment and resources

Experience with:

· CNC Machines, Horizontal boring mills, Lathes

· Overhead cranes, forklifts

· Experience with machining products for Nuclear, Oil & Gas or Naval would be an asset

Days: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Afternoons: Monday – Thursday 3:30 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
