Position and Responsibilities
As a member of the Quality Assurance team and reporting to the Cobourg Quality Assurance Superintendent, this position provides the customer with objective evidence that the product requirements are met through effective quality planning, improvement, evaluation, and prevention and assures the deployment of quality function in all aspects of the product manufacturing cycle through departmental assurance activities.
Responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to reviewing customer specifications to complete projects from concept to delivery, providing Quality Assurance requirements on quotation requests, quality documentation development/review/approvals, lead and manage supplier selection/document review/approvals/audits, interpretation of ASTM, CSA N285, CSA N299, and ASME codes and standards, lead and manage development/purchase/qualification of new Quality Assurance/Quality Verification equipment, involvement with internal and external audits as a support and possible lead function, metrology support, customer/supplier/regulatory (TSSA) liaison, and involvement in continuous improvement/corrective action activities.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
Post-secondary technical degree/diploma specializing in Engineering or related fields
3 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a Quality Engineering role
Working knowledge of ASTM, CSA N285, CSA N299, and ASME codes and standards
Strong written, verbal and computer literacy skills
Assets:
Previous auditing experience
Previous experience with History Docket/File creation
Previous ASME code project experience
