Cost Accountant/Analyst – Contract Consulting Position

Camber Consulting LLC is hiring a part-time employee to serve on a contract basis as a Cost Accountant/Analyst for its consumer goods/cannabinoid (federally legal) client. Our client is currently seeking assistance with building and maintaining costing models to improve processes and policies with the goal of reducing costs and maximizing profit for this new company experiencing explosive growth.

General responsibilities:

• Collecting and analyzing data about a company’s operational costs.
• Setting standard costs of manufactured goods.
• Developing and analyzing cost standards.
• Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis.
• Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
• Preparing cost models and reports and presenting findings to management.
• Recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit.
• Advising upper management on appropriate costing decisions based on financial data.

Required Skills / Capabilities:

• Apply cost accounting/analysis skills and business and consumer goods industry experience to develop sophisticated, maintainable cost models.
• Excellent communication skills.

Education and Experience

• Four years of cost accounting/analysis experience, preferably in the customer goods industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA, CMA and/or advanced degree in related discipline.

Term/Rate:

This role is full-time but temporary in nature and expected to last three months with possible extensions. Employment with Camber may or may not continue beyond this project depending on fit and availability of other contract work.

• $65 – 85 per hour.
• Six months with possible extensions.
• Full-time, 30-40 hours per week.

COVID-19 considerations:
Employees are expected to work remotely during pandemic restrictions. When allowed, employees will be expected to be able to work onsite in Everett occasionally while conforming with company, client and government Covid-19 rules and requirements.
