1 Part-time Morning Reading & Writing Instructor Needed
CAMBA needs an ABE/GED reading and writing instructor to work part-time on site and in person only at its Education Center, located at 955 Flatbush Avenue – Brooklyn, N.Y. The work schedule is 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, Monday through Thursday. The salary is $34.00 per hour for up to 12 hours per week. Candidates must have a B.A/B.S. in education or a related field – Masters preferred. Candidates must have taught reading and/or writing skills (in an ABE, GED, TASC, or other similar/related contexts) for at least 2 years and must have experience working with low income and/or ethnically diverse populations. For this position, the ability to effectively teach standard English grammar, reading comprehension skills (via Literature, Science, and Social Studies passages), plus informative/argumentative essay writing skills to adults and young adults is a must. Applicants with experience in computer-assisted instruction, who are self-starters, and highly organized are preferred.
