Early Childhood Educator

Calvary Nursery School (non profit organization) is a long standing, play based, community preschool in San Francisco. We provide a developmentally appropriate, Reggio Inspired early childhood program for children ages 3-5.

We are looking for dynamic teachers to join our collaborative team of professional educators, specifically those interested and experienced working with Pre K age children. Our Pre K class spends two full days in Golden Gate Park, immersed in nature study and exploring the outdoor classroom. Individuals who have experience or are willing to embrace this aspect of our program are encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities

• Work as a team member with one or two other teachers in a highly collaborative setting
• Strictly adhere to all COVID related staff protocols and expectations to maintain a safe environment for children and staff
• Develop and implement child centered and developmentally appropriate curriculum based on children’s inquiries
• Bring support, enthusiasm and professional qualities to our unique hybrid of indoor, three days a week on campus, and outdoor program which meets twice a week at Golden Gate Park
• Maintain open communication with families
• Observe, assess, and document the developmental continuum of each child in your group
• Prepare thoughtful and well written monthly portfolios, twice a year progress reports, daily parent social media posts and monthly blogs
• 26 hours per week
• Monday to Friday 8am to 230pm
• Positions available in the fall of 2022, starting August 29, 2022 for ten days of staff development, team collaboration and classroom set up

Job Requirements

• Minimum 6 units in ECE and working towards completion of units
• Excellent communication, organization and team working skills
• Meets all state licensing requirements
