Salary Range: $131,773 to $148,344 per annum plus superannuation & excellent salary packaging options.

About the Role
The people function is an integral part of Calvary’s services. HR promotes a people-centric environment and provides a broad range of HR services to all Calvary Hospitals, Community Care and Retirement Facilities in the ACT region.
The Senior Manager HR Operations will operationalise the HR Strategy and lead the delivery of operational HR services across all ACT Calvary facilities. The position will manage the HR function, including workforce management, industrial relations, employee relations, workforce productivity and reporting, and recruitment, with a critical focus on aligning HR service delivery with organisational goals.
The human resources function will provide services to CPHB employees, and through a shared service model to the region with appropriate service level agreements. The Senior Manager HR Operations will report to the ACT Region Chief Human Resources Officer who is responsible for the broader strategic workforce agenda and who will provide functional direction.


Primary responsibilities include:
  • Manage the people agenda in alignment with direction from Calvary National, and deliver leadership on HR governance in alignment with the employment framework.
  • Operationalise the HR Strategy for the ACT region and create and maintain service level agreements (SLA) with other facilities in by partnering with key stakeholders and people managers/leaders across the ACT region.
  • Build a performance culture and develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the HR portfolio in collaboration with colleagues to enhance the implementation of people management and leadership initiatives and projects that drive business improvement.
  • Provide operational and strategic advice on a range of people and development issues concerning workforce management, industrial relations, employee relations, workforce productivity and reporting, and recruitment to the Regional CHRO, as well as to the GMs and other relevant Executives.
  • Lead improvement initiatives to achieve a quality focus on BAU, and provide guidance and support to key stakeholders, HR colleagues and the Business Partner and Recruitment teams, as appropriate.


What you bring
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary HR practices, preferably in the context of both private and public sector employment legislation in the health sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in delivering operational HR services, ideally in a healthcare environment.
  • Has astute judgement, a strong focus on results and the ability to solve complex issues and build organisational capability.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in managing and developing diverse teams, including indirect reports and others who may not report directly to you but seek your direction or advice.
  • High level of business partnership and collaboration skills, including demonstrated ability to engage and influence key stakeholders.
