Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for credit union financial analysis and benchmarking, industry observations, and general client and analytics software support. You will join our team of industry analysts which support multiple areas and business initiatives across the company. Your primary duties will involve analyzing market trends and delivering timely and well thought out analysis for our clients. This will span articles written on our editorial website CreditUnions.com, deep dives into market segments for our numerous quarterly publications, as well as assisting your teammates and senior executives to prepare webinars and research reports for an audience that reaches across the credit union industry. In addition to market analysis you will be responsible for troubleshooting client requests which span software support to custom analysis projects. Strong communication skills and an ability to manage your time are a must as you will frequently be working on multiple projects which involve numerous departments across the company and external stakeholders.

Essential Functions

As an Industry Analyst II, you will be responsible for performing the following functions:

• Research and prepare data-driven written analysis of industry trends.
• Provide analytical support, including benchmark comparisons, financial statement analysis and financial modeling.
• Stay informed of current business and economic developments and or relevant information to the credit union and broader financial services industry.
• Support our data preparation and loading endeavors in tandem with our Information Services and Technology team to ensure timely processing and data integrity.
• Functions as a team lead for various projects, interfacing with other departments within the company.
• Support client account managers in the preparation of marketing materials for both prospective and current clients.
• Assist partners and senior management in the preparation of consulting and speaking proposals and client engagement presentations.
• Provide real-time client support and software training to clients to reconcile outstanding issues and questions.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis as necessary to answer business questions and drive enterprise decisions.
• Interact with industry executives to understand their needs and priorities; develop relevant content and product solutions in response.
• Research, prepare, and present webinars on relevant market topics while demonstrating functionally of the software analytics products.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Analytics, or related field.
• One to three years of work experience in financial services, economics, research, or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Proven aptitude for critical thinking and attention to detail. Proficient in marrying industry specific data points with broader market trends to provide insightful context and depth to analysis.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a demonstrable ability to dive into data and interpret insights clearly and accurately.
• Experience and knowledge of financial statements and their relationships.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment working on multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal errors.
• Ability to work independently and suggests solutions to problems to work through roadblocks.
• Significant experience with Microsoft Excel (Vlookups and Pivots) and other Microsoft Office products.
• Direct client support experience and proven problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience and/or familiarity working with SQL database management systems is a plus.
• Public speaking and/or experience presenting analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
• Credit union and financial institution industry experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and supports both internal associates and external clients.

Travel

Minimal out-of-area and overnight travel is expected.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
