Job Title: Director of Compliance, Special Education

Reports To: Head of Schools FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Special Education
Overview: Virtual schools are new models in public education. They look both backward to what we know works
well in educating children, and forward to see how technology can help us implement these strategies with children.
Summary:
The Director of Compliance would assist with IEP timelines, audits, CASEMIS, CDE filings, OAH filings, Related Services and NPS Placements. This position would ensure that the special education department met needed timelines as well as pinpoint areas of support needed as a department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
IEP support

• Track timelines (30days, annuals, triennials, assessment plan, initials, NPS)
• Work with schedulers
• Related Services (support/collaborate with CMS related services team)
• MARVIN IEP dates updated
• SEIS 2.0 Reports
• SIRAS Reports
• SignaturesSped audits
• Lead internal audits (at least one time per month in office)
• Work with sped director on training items needed based on audit
• Participate in external audit process
• Create PDs with sped director based on audit findingsCDE
• CASEMIS
• CDE Complaints (evidence, response and corrective actions)
• PIR plans
• DINCOAH

• Lead the team on any OAH filings
• Create Timelines, Provide evidence and meet with legal
• Resolution sessions, Mediation, Hearing and Settlement Agreements Any other supports and duties needed as assigned by the Heads of Schools

Requirements/Experience:

• Reside in the state of California
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong content and subject-matter knowledge
• Ability to support and guide adults, as well as students
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Organization and time-management skills
• Excellent writing and grammar skills
• Flexible schedule
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook, PowerPoint and experience using them in a professional capacity

Must hold a valid California Education Specialist Credential California English Learner Authorization

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
