Calibre Search Looking for Traffic Engineer at Slough, Berkshire Full Time

An ever growing National consultancy is looking to recruit a Traffic Engineer with 3 to 5 years’ experience to join their dynamic and established team. They are working with a fantastic client base including Transport For London, Royal Borough of Tower Hamlets and Local Authorities across the UK.

As a Traffic Engineer in this team you will be given the opportunity to work on a fantastic portfolio of projects including Traffic Calming, Active Travel, Low Traffic Neighbourhoods and Traffic Management schemes. Recent schemes include Maidenhead Station and the surrounding streets which including cycleways, Bus Priority Routes and a pedestrianised Plaza.

You will be heavily involved in the detailed design of these schemes using software’s at the forefront of engineering including Civil 3D, AutoCAD 3D and GIS.

Traffic Engineer Responsibilities

• To work with and support team members, providing technical support for a range of project types
• Contribute towards the design and development of options primarily for how people move around: road safety, walking, cycling and public transport improvements, but also safe and efficient movement of people and goods in private vehicles
• Assist in the collection of relevant pedestrians, cycling, public transport and traffic surveys such as volume, speed, accidents, turning counts, loading activity, desire lines, bus patronage etc
• Analyse data and present it in an easy to comprehend way, such as in maps, graphs, tables and reports
• Undertake site visits to capture relevant information, such as existing street features and how people move through or use an area
• Help produce relevant general arrangement design drawings and associated reports
• Projects are undertaken at various stages depending upon the specification/ brief (e.g. concept / feasibility / preliminary / detailed design)
