Calibre Search Looking for Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Leeds, West Yorkshire Full Time

I am seeking to speak with a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with at least 6 years extensive experience in design, looking for an opportunity in Leeds. This role is pivotal to the delivery of a range of engineering and environmental improvement projects, including options appraisal, concept design and detailed scheme design.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be leading/supporting geotechnical design and delivery on a variety of projects, which includes mentoring and developing junior Engineering Geologists and Geotechnical Engineers.

The responsibilities of a Senior Geotechnical Engineer include, Geotechnical analysis and design to Eurocodes for earthworks, retaining walls and foundations, Preparation of Desk Study Reports, GIR’s and GDR’s, Preparation of geotechnical specifications for construction works, CDM Regulations, Scoping, organizing and supervising ground investigations.

Candidates should have a degree in civil engineering or geology with a postgraduate geotechnical qualification being essential to this role. A valid UK driving license and a willingness to travel to sites and other offices are essential.

Expertise with respect to the following core skills is expected:

• Geotechnical analysis and design to Eurocodes for earthworks, retaining walls and foundations
• Preparation of Desk Study Reports, GIR’s and GDR’s
• Preparation of geotechnical specifications for construction works
• CDM Regulations
• Scoping, organising and supervising ground investigations
• Leading and QA of geotechnical engineering analysis and design
• Leading and mentoring of technical staff
• Project Management
• Geostudio Slope W /Seep W (or similar software)
• Frew / WALLAP/ALP
