Calibre Search Looking for Graduate Geotechnical Engineer at Reading, Berkshire Full Time

An opportunity has come available for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer with a passion for design! I am looking for either a fresh graduate with an MSc or BEng in Geotechnical Engineering or ideally Geotechnical Engineer with some industry experience that is now looking to kick on within a design environment within the Reading area.

You will come in a s a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, working alongside some of the industries most talented Geotechnical Engineers for an extremely well respected but medium sized international consultancy that specialise in Geotechnical and Engineering Geology design to the highest level across a range of sectors within the UK and oversees including rail, highway, buildings and dams.

Once feet are under the table as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you will be required to design and manage large scale/complex ground investigations, produce specifications, geotechnical design reports, risk assessments, design and analysis of foundations, walls, slopes, retaining structures, remediation of rock slopes etc.

You will get trained and developed on all aspects of Geotechnical and Engineering Geology design (including all industry and FE software) from preliminary to detailed designs and even having the opportunity to carry out build.

The ideal Graduate Geotechnical Engineer will have:

• Degree/BEng in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering with an MSc in a relevant topic i.e.. Soil Mechanics, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical engineering.
• Minimum of 1 year (preferably) practical experience within a UK Geotechnical consultancy or contractor but not essential.
• Ideally experienced in Site Investigation activities (Inc Sampling, Trial pitting, Monitoring etc.)
• You must have a working knowledge in current governing standards within the Geo-Environmental / Geotechnical Ground investigation supervision on site.
• UK Driving Licence
