Calibre Search Looking for Associate Director (Civil) at Birmingham, West Midlands Full Time

A great opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineering Associate Director to lead an existing Civil Engineering team based in Birmingham which provides highway and drainage and infrastructure support to a number of blue chip international Brands for projects primarily within the automotive, commercial, industrial, retail, education, and residential sectors.
You will become part of a Senior Management Team and will be responsible, under the leadership of the board of directors, for the technical and financial aspects of the business, its clients, and its staff. Key elements of your role will include Business Development, building a successful and high performing team, technical excellence coaching and mentoring, commercial and risk management.
Alongside duties of managing the team, you will be expected to initially take the role as a lead Engineer on major and large-scale projects. For example, assisting the wider team, creating, developing, and finalising engineering design solutions and managing and working collaboratively both internally and externally with other design team professionals.
You should be established in the industry with full UK chartership, with at least 10 years’ experience in Civil Engineering, with ‘hands on’ design and management experience. You will need experience with estate infrastructure, roads and drainage design and detail; including obtaining technical approval of section S38, S104 and S278 applications; flood risk assessments and drainage strategies. The ability to use AutoCAD and design software such as MicroDrainage, PDS and Civil 3D is highly desirable.
As a self-motivated person you will be expected to demonstrate the potential to progression within the Senior Management Team, as there is a significant opportunity for someone with drive and ambition to progress to a place on the Board of Directors.
