Position:
Calian is?looking for a Java Software Developer?to?join?our satellite communications domain building highly available software systems.?You will join a team of software developers and systems engineers that provide innovative?solutions to the world’s leading satellite operators that will?improve the operating efficiency of their global communications networks.?You are eager to collaborate, learn, and push the limits of the solutions Calian provides.?You have a combination of problem-solving and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle a mix of disparate tasks that will include software development and coordination.?

Responsibilities:
Be a technical leader and valued contributor on an autonomous, cross-functional agile team

Create the best systems for our customers by designing, building, scaling, and evolving our solutions and systems

Be able to contribute to any phase of the software project and act as key technical contact in implementation and testing of software

Architect, design, develop, and deploy backend software systems that power the world’s leading satellite communications networks

Work closely with systems engineers to understand and analyze requirements for complex software solutions

Lead and mentor software developers as we continue to grow the team

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science degree combined with an Electrical Engineering/Engineering Physics degree?

3+ years of experience in designing and building distributed, high-availability services in Java

Experience in high scalability, complex proprietary communication and real-time equipment??

Experience working directly with customers and users to understand, document and develop solutions to meet their requirements

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and can communicate ideas

Experience being a technical leader or mentor

Knowledgeable with deploying and maintaining services on Linux

Self-motivated professional with the ability to multitask, prioritize and communicate progress in a challenging environment
