Compensation: $50,000 to $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10 am to 6:30 pm.

Key responsibilities are defined below:
Prevent illness and injury.
Make recommendations for, and lead the development and launch of, all new safety programming.
Ensure compliance with internal and external health and safety policies and programs.
Facilitate the Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings including scheduling, minute taking, and follow-up on corrective actions.
Communicate to management and follow up on all JHSC recommendations.
Promote health, safety, and wellness on an ongoing basis and communicate changes to all employees regarding legislation and policies.
Coordinate, conduct, and support all health and safety activities throughout the facility.
Follow up on corrective actions required to address all health & safety incidents, inspections, and hazard assessments in the workplace.
Conduct inspections as required; review and ensure action on all follow-up items.
Lead incident investigations in collaboration with the JHSC and the supervisor responsible.
Conduct risk assessments as required; review and ensure safety for events, construction projects, workplace violence & harassment, new equipment purchases, chemical inventory, emergency/life-saving devices, racking systems, etc.
Enforce health & safety compliance with all employees including following safe operating procedures, pre-start checklists, safety policy adherence, maintaining logbooks etc.
Act as a liaison for regulatory inspections and investigations and follow up on any compliance issues and related actions.
Conduct, facilitate, and maintain record-keeping for all safety training including orientation for new hires, monthly and ad-hoc safety talks, and new safety programming.
Develop and follow up on all return-to-work plans for WSIB, LTD, STD leaves in collaboration with the supervisor responsible.
What you bring:
2 years demonstrated Health and Safety experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience.
Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, or related field of study.
Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, principles, and best practices.
Professional knowledge of all legislation and legal requirements pertaining to health & safety (i.e., OHSA, WSIA, AODA, Human Rights Code, etc.)
Intermediate computer skills using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
Excellent communication skills: verbal, and technical writing skills with the ability to work with a variety of people in a team environment.
Organization skills to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
Learning agility with the ability to pivot and shift priorities as needed.
Professionalism, empathy, and objectivity.
