IS Project Finance Analyst

Base Location – Coventry

The Opportunity

As our Project Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing the financial needs and reports of the IS function, reviewing project terms and expense forecasting and identifying strategies to minimize financial loss.

You will be supporting with the day-to-day operations and improvements of projects. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, have excellent time management skills and rigorous attention to detail.

What we ask of you

• Monitor the overall investment and financial performance of the IS projects in BUILD as well as overall team budgets
• Collate reports and analysing information for regulatory reporting on the RIIO-2 investment plan
• Be accountable for maintaining project financial reports in order to support IS Project Managers and Product Owners to expenditure for each project. Analyse all project expenses, investigate variances to budget, provide commentary, maintain project records and contracts to ensure terms are adhered to, ensure robust financial reporting and ensure that billings are issued to customers in a timely and accurate manner
• Be accountable for leading monthly finance surgeries as well as the month end forecasting process for reporting back to central Finance teams
• Provide expertise to support project commercial decision making
• Financial monitoring against set IS budgets and agreed investments, aligning and profiling spend against the investment plans and set determination of the regulatory periods and reporting cycles

What You’ll Bring

• Qualified or studying towards relevant accountancy qualification: CIMA, ACCA or ACA
• Recent knowledge of working in a Project Accounting or Management Accounting role
• Strong IT skills, particularly advanced MS Excel, excellent verbal and written communication skills, evidence of analytical qualities
• Top customer service skills, to deliver at high levels to internal and external stakeholders
• The ability to work and promote optimum efficiency and compliance
• An understanding of H&S to comply, drive and help to reduce risk to colleagues, customers and stakeholders
• Be a champion for identifying improved ways of working
