Cabonne Council Hiring for Management Accountant Job at Molong Full Time

Cabonne Council has an exciting opportunity to for an enthusiastic finance professional to join the Finance team as the Management Accountant.

This role will be responsible for the preparation and administration of Council’s budget and the monitoring and reporting on Council’s Long Term Financial Plan. This role is required to undertake a variety of accounting and financial functions, and provide supervision of the rates section and finance officers.

This role is a full-time role, based out of the Molong office.

Qualifications:

Essential

• Degree in Finance/Accounting.
• Class C driver’s licence.

Desirable

• Knowledge of Council’s Financial Software – Synergy Soft, Power Budget.

Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in a similar accounting position with a strong financial accounting background.
• Demonstrated experience in the preparation of a large-scale budget.
• Demonstrated experience in the preparation and review of long-term financial plans and models.
• Sound knowledge and experience in applying accounting policies, principles, and accounting standards.
• Experience in the preparation of annual financial statements and an understanding of accompanying notes.
• Strong ability in the use of accounting software and other relevant software applications.
• Strong accounting skills with the ability to undertake project accounting and complex reconciliations.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse and report on financial data.
• Ability to supervise and lead a small team.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Accuracy with a high attention to detail.
• Highly systematic and organised approach to work with strong prioritisation and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with customers and staff at all levels.

• This position is graded 9-11 ($1449.90 – $1818.10 gross per week).
