• Financial Controller – Construction
• Drive the financial strategy & build a finance team
• $140 to $160K + super

About the Role
Reporting to the Managing Director and taking charge of the finance function, you will build your own team, reassess all key processes for the budgeting and cashflow models and take ownership of the finance framework from governance through to operations.
Business partnering with four other ELT members you will identify key business drivers, become a “trusted advisor” on projects, funding, cashflow management, commercial operations and present meaningful data and insights which future decisions will be based upon.

The primary accountabilities are to:

• Prepare all financial and management reporting with well analysed commentary of performance;
• Oversee one team member and ensure effective management of day-to-day accounting transactions including AP, AR and payroll;
• Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting and taxation legislative requirements;
• Coordinate and produce the Group’s annual consolidated budget;
• Actively manage, challenge, and accurately update project cashflow forecasts;
• Closely monitor all project reporting including job costing and work in progress schedules;
• Expertly manage all cash transactions including payment runs, cash forecasting and bank covenants;
• Ensure adequate funds are available at all times to meet operating cashflow requirements;
• Monitor CAPEX and assess investment decisions to ensure they are aligned with strategic direction;
• Provide astute financial and strategic advice to the CEO and other Executives as required;
• Develop and deliver a long-term financial strategy to ensure the financial viability and sustainability of future growth;
• Manage compliance reporting in relation to any debt facilities;
• Develop robust financial frameworks for all finance related business activities;
• Manage all business-related commercial requirements including insurance renewals, property leases, licenses, and subscriptions; and

About you
A commercially astute CA / CPA who is ambitious, results oriented with a demonstrated track record of partnering and delivering value add solutions to an evolving business, is required. You have well developed project management and reporting experience, ideally developed in a construction, property or infrastructure, and the technical expertise, motivation and presence to match their dynamic, entrepreneurial culture.
