OVERVIEW
C Speed is seeking to hire an experienced Systems Engineer to support our radar development, test, and integration operations for our Integrated Surveillance Solutions (ISS) group. We develop high-quality, custom engineered hardware and software for commercial and government applications. Our engineering team is a diverse group specializing in application and embedded software, high performance analog and digital systems, signal processing, advanced product integration, and rugged system packaging.
This position will work within a cross-functional team of product development and support engineers and will be responsible for performing engineering tasks related to radar and sensor design, development, integrations, and test to support on time delivery of custom radar and other sensor solutions. They will also participate in initial system deployment (OCONUS and CONUS), installation and test efforts that incorporate a wide range of mechanical and electronic equipment and subsystems.
This role will also assist engineering and program needs by applying system engineering processes supporting requirements development and management, and system configuration and data management, requirements analysis support, software development, test objectives/criteria, support test and evaluation, development of technical s and manuals as required. The designated work location can be remote and will require travel to C Speed’s offices and various customer locations on an as-needed basis.
POSITION SUMMARY
- Manage performance requirements from development through deployment.
- Develop technical documents that support requirements.
- Review designs and generate technical artifacts for requirements compliance.
- Develop specifications and ensure quality, operational performance, and manufacturability of products.
- Lead/manage test planning and generation of test procedures supporting functional and environmental testing of physical systems, subsystems, and components.
- Develop/ support failure modes and effects analysis, failure investigation, root cause and corrective action as required.
- Develop drawings and technical data packages supporting fabrication, integration and build of mechanical and electrical components and assemblies.
- Develop drawing and technical data packages to support high level assembly and integration of mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Development of technical sections and presentations
- Design, development, integration, and production support for current and future products.
- Support mechanical design analysis including stress, strain, thermal, and tolerancing.
- Support development, prototype, integration and test of mechanical and electrical components, equipment, and systems including design, sourcing, developing bills-of-materials, managing procurement of parts.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, reliability, and design validation teams, including vendors, and contractors.
- Writing technical sections and presentations for internal and external customers
- Support local and remote integration and test activities at various C Speed locations.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Cross-functional knowledge of systems engineering, electronic, software, and mechanical engineering.
- Experience verifying design performance against requirements.
- Experience in mechanical design, integration, and testing.
- Experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Ability to read/interpret technical drawings.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly – in writing and verbally.
- Self-motivated, solid organizational skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance.
Preferred
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD/ PDM.
- Experience with SolidWorks Composer.
- Experience designing, developing, and testing at the systems and component level for DoD customers. with emphasis on radar systems and sensor applications.
- Experience with developing hardware to ruggedization standards such as MIL-STD-810.
- Experience performing reliability and maintainability predictions.
- Experience with test methods, planning, generation, and execution.
- Experience with global teams working across multiple time zones.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and documentation.
- Hands-on experience using prototyping tools (hand tools, power/bench tools).
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
- 5 years of relevant experience.
EDUCATION
- BS/BA in relevant field of study required. Related experience may be substituted for education at the rate of 2 years’ experience for each year of education.
