Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR)

Bywood East Health Care is a privately-owned health care facility that has served Northeast Minneapolis and surrounding communities since 1971. We are currently looking for caring and compassionate Nursing Assistants (NAR) to provide quality care to our residents. A Nursing assistant’s (NAR) primary role is to provide basic care to our residents, as well as assist them in daily activities they might have trouble with on their own.

We are currently looking for Full time DAY shift (6:00a-2:00p), and Full time Evening Shift (2:00p-10:00p) NAR’s to join our team!

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nursing assistant, under the direction of the Nurse, is responsible for providing nursing related, direct nursing care services to all the residents in accordance to the philosophy, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department as well as the regulations set by Resident Rights, and State and Federal Regulations. The nursing assistant is expected to be able to effectively set priorities in the workload and to work in cooperation with all staff.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• All employees must be able to show they are Tuberculosis free on start date. Mantoux test will be administered by a nurse at Bywood prior to start, or chest x-ray will be accepted.
• All employees must pass the required Department of Human Services Background Investigation.
• Graduate of NAR program.
• Currently on registry, in good standard as a NAR.
• Emotionally able to contain feelings and show restraint. Portrays attitudes of respect and courtesy.
• Is a team worker.
• Willingness to perform a variety of repetitive tasks.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Displays patience and tact in dealing with ill and difficult residents.
• May be required to work a variety of shifts.
