Are you looking to develop your career within procurement in a fast-paced, multi-site organisation? Our client, a well-established and growing business, is seeking a Buying Assistant to support their Indirect Procurement team across the UK & Ireland.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early procurement experience (or strong administrative/analytical skills) to gain exposure to end-to-end procurement processes, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement.
The Role
As Buying Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting procurement activities across indirect spend categories. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, helping to ensure efficient processes, strong supplier relationships, and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the preparation and delivery of RFPs, tenders, and procurement projects
* Provide administrative support across procurement initiatives
* Coordinate meetings, agendas, and documentation
* Assist with contract implementation and supplier management
* Act as a point of contact for supplier and stakeholder queries
* Maintain accurate supplier and contract databases
* Support category management activities and supplier categorisation
* Produce reports and assist with data analysis, including compliance and rebate tracking
* Build strong working relationships with internal teams across finance and operations
About You
* Previous experience in procurement, buying, or a similar support role is advantageous
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* High attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical ability
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with data
* A proactive, adaptable approach with a willingness to learn
