Buyer Full Time

Telecon is seeking a motivated and career-driven individual to join our growing team as a Buyer.

Under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer ensures the best value for money in purchasing transactions for the company, monitors the quality of purchased products to ensure they meet expectations and objectives, and ensures quality service to the various internal clients served by the department.

This full-time position is primarily remote and offers a flexible group insurance plan, company-matching RRSP from day one, and opportunities for growth and development.

The expected annual salary for this position is in the range of $60,000 – $65,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Research and issue requests for quotations;
• Select approved suppliers for each purchase request;
• Issue purchase orders and ensure delivery within the required timelines, location, quantity, and quality for both one-time and large-scale projects, as well as regular inventory needs;
• Report the status of requests to the requester;
• Quickly address material shortages to meet project deadlines;
• Follow up with various departments to ensure received materials are acceptable and that suppliers are paid according to the terms stated on purchase orders;
• Establish reliable lines of communication with on-site management teams to ensure all field purchase orders are accurate;
• Investigate and correct discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices;
• Build and maintain relationships with existing suppliers and help establish long-term partnership agreements;
• Communicate with warehouse teams to ensure purchased products meet requirements;
• Ensure compliance with supplier agreements;
• Evaluate supplier performance;
• Provide functional support to junior and temporary team members in various day-to-day aspects;
• Participate in operational meetings as required;
• Demonstrate added value in activities supporting operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• College or university degree in business administration, with a specialization in operations management, or any combination of education and/or experience deemed relevant;
• 3 to 5 years of experience as a buyer;
• Proficiency in MS Office software, particularly Excel;
• Strong ability to work as part of a team;
• Analytical mindset and ability to interpret various purchasing reports;
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
• Strong attention to detail and autonomy.
