Proactive Bookkeeper needed
A modern, friendly and approachable firm of Chartered Accountants in Rayleigh is recruiting a new experienced bookkeeper to assist with the following tasks:

Regular bank entries using manual and bank feed entries

Posting of sales entries manually and using Hubdoc for a variety of clients

Reconciliation of bank accounts

Preparation of VAT returns for client approval and submission

Registration of MTD VAT registrations

Simple excel management reports for a couple of clients

Answering of the telephone on a rota

Managing your own client portfolio of clients including deadlines for VAT returns.

Skills you will need:

Bookkeeping experience > 5 years needed, ideally in practice environment.

Confident knowledge of Sage and Xero bookkeeping software.

Ability to manage client deadlines without micromanagement.

Skills that are desirable:

Experience with charity bookkeeping

Experience with solicitor’s legal cashiering.

Payroll experience with Moneysoft

Our office is a friendly, down to earth environment where we work as a team and roll up our sleeves to all help towards the work deadlines in the office.

The right person to fit into this team will be a problem solver, patient to help support clients yet strategic enough to help train clients to help improve efficiency in the office.

Working hours:

We are happy to consider someone wishing to work 3, 4 or 5 days a week. We are also happy to consider a candidate that would like to work full work days or perhaps around school children times.

We have two different start times in the office either a 9am – 5pm with hour lunch or 9.30am to 5pm with half hour lunch to suit you.

Extra Holiday:

Our firm offers a package of 32 days holiday with a whole firm shut down for 2 weeks over the Christmas break.

Training:

Candidates will be offered opportunities for training courses on AAT or ICB as preferred.

Part-time hours: 35 per week
