Butler Rose Ltd Hiring for Payroll & Benefits Officer – Part Time at Devizes Full Time

As Payroll Coordinator your primary responsibility will be the smooth running of a monthly payroll for circa 300 employees, always ensuring accuracy. Being in sole charge of payroll you’ll need to stay up to date with the latest, payroll policy, pensions, procedure, and associated legislation.

You’ll be the subject matter expert for all payroll related queries and be supported by the Head of Finance and HR team.

Regular duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining the payroll system ensuring information from source documents is accurately and promptly entered
• Processing any employee pay related changes
• Calculating SSP/SMP/SPP, Student Loans and holiday pay when necessary
• Updating employee tax codes, student loan details and any other data as notified by HMRC
• Preparing monthly BACS submission for payroll ensuring payment of salaries are made by the set deadlines
• Generating payslips
• Preparing and submitting all monthly and annual data and returns to HMRC, pension providers, and other agencies and organisations
• Preparing and posting the monthly payroll journals to the nominal ledger
• Reconciling payroll related control accounts monthly
• Investigating and resolving payroll related queries from staff in an efficient and responsive manner
• Responding promptly, efficiently, and accurately to payroll related correspondence from outside bodies such as HMRC, Contributions Agency, CSA, and other authorities
• Performing the payroll year end including submissions to HMRC, completion of annual returns and preparation of P11D’s
• Issuing P45 to leavers and P60s to current employees at end of tax year
