Seeking a part-time bookkeeper to assist with a growing UK client base. Initial role will likely be a flexible 10-15 hours per week but there is likely scope for this to grow – we are a relatively young and small business with aspirations and welcome someone who might like to come on the journey. Would perhaps suit a back-to-work parent (or similar) who is looking for flexibility in their work life balance whilst also maintaining their own clients.

The role will include all aspects of bookkeeping for small and medium size enterprises, almost solely in Xero, with the use of other software as is required in the modern accounting world. Initially it would likely be a support role in helping absorb a growing workload within an expanding client base but, the successful candidate will hopefully quickly take on responsibility for their own clients and provide an end-to-end service, supervised by the management team.

Ideally, you will have extensive experience of using Xero software and will have a significant work history in a finance related environment. Experience in dealing with and managing clients is also essential.

Strong computing and communication skills will be required and attention-to-detail is a must. The ability to self-manage and prioritise will also be essential when managing your own portfolio of clients.

A lot of the work will be able to be done from home on your own schedule (to a certain extent) although, the odd client visit may be required from time-to-time and a certain element of business hours may need to be maintained. Remuneration and hours can all be discussed – we primarily seek the right candidate and hope to work the rest out with you.

There is the distinct possibility that the role could grow with time but, this does not have to be the case if reduced hours is what you are looking for.
