Burnbrae Farms Hiring for Production Supervisor at Lyn, ON Full Time

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and supervising employees, work activities and resources necessary for all aspects of production in a food processing environment, as well as ensuring proper training and use of equipment. Duties are to be performed in accordance with good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and established occupational health and safety, food safety and quality and regulatory guidelines.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directly supervises, coaches/trains, and coordinates production crew ensuring compliance to safety, GMPs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Interacts and communicates effectively as a leader, coordinating with Production Manager, Maintenance, Quality Assurance and other on-site management.
• Complies with all GMPs, safety, and QA practices with respect to food safety and quality. Understands, supports and trains direct reports on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the Quality Assurance Program.
• Ensures food safety through Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), allergen risk management, and prevention of contamination.
• Ensures all employee follow plant procedures, safety protocols and GMP’s.
• Develops and modifies SOPs as necessary.
• Actively engages employees to attain plant KPI’s.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate and legible documentation in support of day to day activities and our Quality Management System.
• Performs production, light mechanical and maintenance duties as required.
• Performs equipment and tool inspections as required.
• Performs pre-op and post-op inspections to confirm compliance to all operating guidelines.
• Recommends suggestions for continuous improvement.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work rotating days and afternoons shifts, including some weekends, as required
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness, with high standards for cleanliness.
• Demonstrated capability to organize people and activities, and how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflow.
• Strong planning, organization and communication skills.

Minimum Education and Experience:

5 years’ related work experience, preferably in a food processing organization.
3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
