Burlington Stores Hiring for Industrial Engineer II at San Bernardino, CA Full Time

This position supports the supply chain organization through a variety of projects focused on enhancing productivity, reducing expense, maximizing throughput and ensuring workplace safety through data ing and analysis. Primary customers are Assistant General Managers and Operations Managers. The Industrial Engineer II will assist in providing improvements to operations, work measurement, methods, materials usage, work station and material handling design, and training with the goal of improving processes and productivity. This will directly impact throughput and increase cost savings across all distribution centers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute the development and maintenance of accurate and effective engineered standards through time and frequency studies. Define and maintain “Best Methods” for all job functions including training of management and hourly workforce on productivity and work methods
• Support business objectives and expense and throughput improvement initiatives through needs assessment, work methods flow analysis, recommendations and project implementation. Use appropriate project management tools to plan, develop, and coordinate the completion of assigned tasks and deliver quantifiable results.
• Test new concepts to improve the flow and setup in the distribution centers. Support the design and implementation of material handling equipment incorporated into existing, new and expanded network buildings. Support capital projects when required with work sampling, cost justification (Return on Investment), and cost/benefit analyses.
• Provide guidance to less senior engineers and be versed at team education, training and facilitation of engineering principles. Assist in management of the productivity clerical team.
• Development and maintenance of accurate and effective incentive pay data collection
• Evaluation and subsequent revision of all work methods and workflow for all functions to improve ergonomics
• Identify, propose and develop improved operational and key metrics ing
• Analysis and cost justification for potential capital project requests
• Work effectively with external resources (consultants and contractors) to ensure collaborative partnerships to meet business requirements

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in projects related to process and material handling systems design, work measurement, productivity improvement, cost reduction and project implementation
• Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
• Experience with work measurement methodologies and tools with an emphasis on time study expertise
• Experience in best methods development and implementation
• Experience in the development and maintenance of a management observation program
• Experience in the development and maintenance of an accountability program
• Experience with productivity tracking, data collection systems
• Experience with Standard Data and Predetermined Time Systems
• Experience performing cost analysis for project justification
• Strong ability to gather, analyze and interpret information and develop, recommend and implement solutions while maintaining budget
• Effective communication, planning, organization, and problem solving skills
• Excellent PC skills – Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Visio
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• BS Industrial Engineering preferred
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred
