JOB PURPOSE
Working closely with the Product Engineering Manager in developing garments from first Proto Sketch, through to PP Approval, Pilot and into bulk production. Ensuring all garments are engineered to maximise utilisation of manufacturing methods, skills and equipment and are in line with costing parameters and on time delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical specification
Working closely with the Assistant Production Engineers to ensure the team are working to the correct standards and exact information and visualised (drawn images) are completed in line with the critical path.
Ensuring correct methods and use of the systems are always being adhered to .
Produce/ oversee garment Technical Specifications ensuring all relevant construction and machine settings are documented.
Technical Risk Assessment Process
Working closely with Product Engineering Manager and team to ensure the technical risk assessment process from first sketch through to Pre-Production hand over captures all potential Risks are identified, documented, managed and solutions found, in line with business-critical dates.
New Product Development
Work with the on all new product development processes, ensuring all technical details are captured accurately and documented in line with standard methodology.
Fit samples – Support the Pattern Technologist preparing for fit meetings by assessing the fit garments for Quality and measuring the garments when required. Attend Fit meetings as and when required in the Head Office.
Pilot Sample Sign off
Analysing the Pilot sample garment against the approved PP. Ensure accurate document of the results and effectively manage the garment technical changes to ensure completion in time for the production start dates.
Communication
Manage cross functional relationships/communication within Castleford / HFH on progress of development / fit sample garment etc.
Travel to Vendors
May be required to travel to HFH and external Vendors/ Suppliers to support the development pre-production process.
Technical Support
Provide reliable technical support to the industrialisation and manufacturing teams during the Pilot Sample and manufacturing process to ensure smooth style implementation and efficient style changeover.
