About the opportunity:

The purpose of the Finance Audit Partner role is to promote the Financial Control and Governance and Risk Management Frameworks within Finance.

This is a specialist role responsible for delivering a robust risk assurance plan that meets the needs of the business as well as ensuring appropriate coverage across risk categories. The role will partner with at all levels within the Functional Unit, to ensure that the business understands and acts within Bupa’s Financial Control and Governance Frameworks and Risk Management Strategy and Finance policies.

How will I help?

Key responsibilities:

• Working with the Head of Finance Risk and Governance implement an effective risk-based assurance plan (Annual Plan) for the whole of Finance, which supports the needs of the business on an ongoing basis.
• Develop the Annual Plan by partnering with the Head of Financial Risk and Governance
• Execute assurance activities in accordance with the Annual plan by designing testing plans and conducting testing to assess the design and operating effectiveness of key controls
• Partner and upskill all areas within Finance on all aspects of financial control and risk management
• Take a proactive approach to identify key business process and control improvement opportunities and ensure escalation thresholds and triggers are enforced
• Oversee remediation of findings including incidents, ensuring prompt, effective and sustainable solutions and appropriate documentation of decisions.
• Contribute to the preparation of all required reporting to the Financial Leadership Team, Second line Risk etc
• Be an advocate for a robust and transparent risk culture and lead by example
• Develop and maintain a strong rapport with relevant Business Unit leaders and employees

What do I need?

• Finance/Business Degree Qualified
• CA / CPA Qualified
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial accounting, external audit or accounting advisory
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills including experience presenting to senior management teams to explain
• Strong understanding of governance, risk and quality assurance processes.
• Well organised, flexible and adaptable. Able to work under significant pressure and intensity
• Demonstrated ability to identify emerging risks and knows when to escalate them
• Proven track record of working effectively with people
• Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies
• Possesses an analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes through consultation, collaboration and conciliation
• Excellent presentation skills
• Strong understanding of Accounting Standards and the Corporations Act
