The role:
To strategically partner a Regional Operations Director and support their Area Managers to develop our business, supporting project activity as required.
This role may be asked to work outside their own region from time to time for operational reasons.
This role will undertake significant travel and will require nights spent away from home.
Key responsibilities include:
Develops a People Plan for the Region that is aligned with the Bupa Dental Care and People strategy.
Works as a key member of the Regional Leadership Team and exemplifies a consultative focused approach to scope, influence, define, customise and implement HR solutions to deliver optimal people and business performance in line with the People Plan and business outcomes.
Works with the Regional Operations Director to develop an organisation design and appropriate workforce planning that ensures the right people with the right skills are in the right place at the right time for the right cost.
Works in partnership with the other HR teams (Legal, Recruitment, Manager Advice and People Operations) to effectively deliver elements of the People Plan, securing the right expertise and ensuring long term relationships are maintained.
Conducts regular talent reviews and succession planning for leadership and key roles.
Works closely with L&D team to influence training and development solutions to increase leadership capability.
Delivers the Employee Engagement agenda to create an engaged and healthy workforce. Providing advice, guidance and recommendations on key drivers for employee engagement to ensure that people love working at Bupa and are healthier because they work at Bupa.
Facilitates a culture of learning and continuous growth by coaching and supporting regional leaders to grow themselves, to grow others, and to grow the business.
Understands the risk and regulatory frameworks within which the business operates. Embeds appropriate people risk and conducts interventions to ensure confidence that our people are adhering to mandatory requirements and are fit and proper to undertake their roles.
Advises and supports execution of cyclical people programmes as required e.g. performance management, Engagement survey etc.
Leads on complex Employee Relation cases as requested.
Leads on cross functional projects to drive forward improvements for BDC and contributing to market unit initatives.
Embraces Human Centred Design methodology when approaching their work.
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
Generalist HR experience gained within a relevant market and/or industry – exposure to a Healthcare/Retail/Hospitality/Consumer led environment would be hugely beneficial.
Experience in working in large multisite organisations.
Must have worked in a senior HR role within a corporate environment.
Experience of leveraging all aspects of HR e.g., reward, engagement, talent & succession management, development etc. to improve business results.
Successful record of influencing, managing and delivering change in a complex business environment including consulting with teams through mergers and acquisitions, TUPE transfers, closures and divestments.
Experience of working in a business partner culture, working closely with business leaders to achieve objectives by challenging and positively disrupting the status quo.
Experience of diagnosing business issues / root cause and developing proposals / solutions to address.
Evidence of building a strong reputation for personal excellence and delivery in the businesses in which they have worked.
Strong project management expereince to maximise success and delivery of initatives, flexing approach to the deliverable.
Expereince of reward structures and of advising management on reward related matters following reward specialist advice.
Evidence of a collaborative approach to developing solutions.
Familiarity with the pace and agility required to operate successfully alongside senior leaders and the pace of the organisation.
