About the role:

To support our growth aspirations in this space, we are seeking a talented Manufacturing Accountant to step into this newly created role and become a key trusted advisor to the Frame and Truss team. Reporting into the Finance Manager, your primary function is to support the Frame & Truss manufacturing business in providing accurate and timely reporting and insights into the manufacturing process, as well as orchestrating process consistency across all sites. This role requires an ability to design and lead changes in the core financial and operational reporting space. Paramount to your success will be your ability to create strong relationships with, and accordingly influence, key business stakeholders.

Our ideal candidate is CPA or CA qualified with a management accounting background with experience in supporting and managing new capital expansion projects. A strong team player, you are passionate about manufacturing and your career in finance with a “can do” attitude who thrives in constructively challenging the status quo.

We currently have manufacturing sites in Victoria (Hallam) and NSW (Warnervale & Unanderra), with flexibility on where this role is based. To maximise the effectiveness of this role, there will be occasional interstate travel requirements (pending border travel restrictions)

As the Manufacturing Accountant, you can expect to:

• Be an integral part of the Frame & Truss Leadership Team, supporting the business to develop a detailed key performance indicator roadmap and subsequently measuring outcomes
• Support the team and build an accurate and complete standard cost model for existing and new products. This will extend to reviewing, effectively communicating and remediating variances to standard costings with the aim of striving towards lowest quartile costs
• Provide labour planning oversight and guidance, actively exploring improvement opportunities in conjunction with respective site leads
• Play a key role in creating financial process consistency across both existing and planned new sites
• Regularly reviewing the impact of cost movements & supporting the Customer Relationship Manager to build an integrated cost model to support the pricing of Frame & Truss jobs
• Drive and oversee stock take process consistency across all sites
• Drive the monthly forecasting process, including creating intra month visibility & providing cost saving opportunity guidance to Site Managers
• Play a key role in the annual budget setting process
• Contribute towards month end reporting requirements
• Key contributor to performance improvement projects to drive ongoing plant efficiencies
• Support the team to review and redesign the integration of three core operating systems to drive alignment, accuracy and ultimately efficiencies
• Be embraced by the team; actively contribute to, and being involved in Leadership team meetings and relevant planning sessions

You’ll need:

• A tertiary qualification in Commerce or Business
• CPA or CA qualified, with 5+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment. It is highly desirable that your career history includes a cost accounting oriented role.
• Strong communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to explain issues and implement process changes from the shop floor to the leadership team
• Proficient computer literacy, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Strong ERP experience in a complex manufacturing / BOM environment will be highly regarded
• Team oriented and customer focused
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and to tight deadlines
