Building Service Worker Full Time NEW

Job Summary

An employee hired to perform custodial duties is responsible to the Director of Operations or designate.

STATUS: PERMANENT

POSITION: Year-round

HOURS OF WORK: 40 hrs/week 14:30 – 23:00 (hours may vary during school breaks)

Elkford Secondary 14:30 – 19:30 & Rocky Mountain Elementary 20:00 – 23:00

WAGE RATE: As per CUPE Local 4165 Agreement $24.81

Qualifications Required

• Grade 12 or equivalent or willing to obtain
• Driver’s License would be considered an asset
• Experience/formal training cleaning in a related field would be considered an asset.
• Computer skills would be an asset

Responsibilities And Duties

• Ensure secure, safe and sanitary conditions of the facility and grounds, such as setting alarms, locking doors, snow removal, dusting, sweeping, washing and garbage pickup.
• Perform cleaning, maintenance and restoration of floors. i.e., stripping and waxing.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of cleaning equipment and supplies and order as needed.
• Operate and care for equipment related to the position.
• Make routine repairs regularly.
• Develop work methods in agreement with the Director of Operations or designate for assigned tasks.
• Report maintenance concerns to the principal/vice principal.
• Check daily with the school principal/vice principal for specific school needs.
• Complete daily checklist of duties.
• Perform other job-related duties.
