Building New Paths Hiring for Instructor Therapist/Senior Therapist Dual Role Full Time

Building New Paths is a private agency providing ABA therapy to individuals with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum disorders or other behavioural conditions. We provide in-home and community based therapy within the Niagara/Hamilton/Halton regions.

Building New Paths is looking for a dynamic, team player to join our team in a dual role as an Instructor therapist/Senior Therapist!

Candidate should also have;

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills- ability to collaborate with families, internal teams and other professionals
• Strong analytical skills
• A strong understanding of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
• A strong understanding of various assessment tools (ABLLS/VB MAPP/ESDM/PEAK)
• Ability to supervise and provide constructive feedback to Instructor Therapists
• Flexible availability
• Provide initial and ongoing individual assessments of the client’s behavior, needs, and functional abilities
• Develop a therapeutic plan and document the observed outcomes for children directly related to assessment results and based on industry best practice using different tools.
• Supervise the implementation of programming by a team of instructor therapists
• Provide orientation, feedback and training to families and caregivers in helpful interventions
• Communication and relation building with school teams
• Collaborate with OTs and SLPs
• Attend staff meetings and other training opportunities
• Appreciates feedback and is a Team player/leader/builder
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

• Master’s degree or working towards a Master’s degree in a relevant field (Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA, etc.)
• An asset, if 5 years’ experience working with children/youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder, conducting behavioural assessments, development of behaviour interventions and analysis of data
• Previous supervision experience is preferred
• This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle. Must have a vehicle and valid license to drive in Ontario
• Flexibility to work evenings/weekends
• Excellent problem solving, communication, interpersonal skills, organizational, and team player abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Recent Police Check / Vulerable Sector Screening (not older than 6 months)
• Valid First Aid & CPR certificate an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual, Freelance
Part-time hours: 8-40 per week

Salary: $23.00-$35.00 per hour
