Yard Manager

Building Blocks is currently looking for an experienced yard manager. The Yard Manager supervises and directs the work activities of all Yard personnel involved in the shipping, receiving, and handling of our GFRC panels. This position provides leadership and direction in loading and unloading techniques, receiving procedures, yard organization, inventory handling and control, yard vehicle maintenance and the promotion of a safe working environment. A Yard Manager generally supervises a department of up to 15 Loaders and Panel Finishers. The Yard Manager is involved with all plant personnel in their department including hiring, employee development, terminations, and disciplinary actions.. The Yard Manager s directly to the Operations Manager.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment
• Facilitation of departmental communication and meetings
• Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Operations Manager
• Track yard inventory
• Practice proper yard equipment operation and preventive maintenance, this includes 10K telehandlers and skid steers
• Maintain yard housekeeping, organization, and layout
• Assurance of maximized payloads for outbound panel shipments
• Maintain and build job skills through company training programs
• Ensuring departmental policy compliance
• Communication with Shipping Dispatcher and Jobsite Managers
• Coordination with Quality Assurance personnel for final QC inspections

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
